The wiki subject guide doesn't look significantly different from other subject guides eg Talis. Likewise, the Bull Run Public Library wiki looks similar to Library homepages done using other software.
Library Success: A best practices wiki looks interesting and I think is a good use of wikis for libraries as people from many different places can access it and add to it.
A Wiki for book reviews seems like a good idea.
The ALA 2006 conference wiki link didn't work, but from reading one of the wikis suggested earlier in this WebCT chapter on wikis, the 2005 ALA conference wiki was very successful.
It was good to read your comment that suggested that wikis the first page of wikis can look like homepages created with other software. I also had this thought.
ReplyDeleteWki's often look similar because new wiki's all use the same templates. but you can pretty it up with colours and pictures, and change the layout, which helps it stand out.
